As a practicing neurosurgeon, I deal with severe and often incapacitating neurological injuries on a daily basis. Over many years of practice, I have come to realize that, simply fixing a physical problem is not sufficient for healing. It is our mind that makes it possible to heal. It not only heals our body but it heals itself. Healing also depends heavily on the caregivers who pave the way to understanding the specific needs of every individual and in the process heal themselves too.
Every brain is unique in the way it interprets the surrounding world and then tries to fit that understanding within a set of rules, called socialization. We are at the very beginning of understanding how and why the brain works the way it does. Embracing the unique and vast spectrum of our minds is what propels us forward as a society.
Enter Blue Hope, the first and only digital hub serving families affected by autism, where technology and deep learning bridge the gap between these beautiful minds and our interpretation of the world. Through video-modeling of evidence-based strategies in the home, Blue Hope provides a unique platform that allows autistic children and their parents and caregivers alike to learn, understand and heal together, while making sense of the world around them through easy, comfortable and engaging strategies of daily life.
It is my belief that the platform provided by Blue Hope will have far reaching implications not only for autism but also for treatment of mild and post-traumatic brain injuries, depression, addiction and many other spectrum disorders.
